A festival of Nalini Jaywant Films was organised on 30th and 31st July 2011 in Sirifort Auditorium, New Delhi.
Nalini Jaywant, who died recently, was along with Devika Rani, one of the first classic female superstars who worked in the golden era of Hindi Cinema- the 1940s and 1950s. She was a relic of a glorious past who lived in an unforgiving present.
Five films namely Munimjee, Samadhi, Rahi, Jadoo and Kaala Paani were screened. The festival was well attended. There was a poster exhibition on films of Nalini Jaywant. Each film screening was followed by interactive session with audience. Quizzes were conducted and winners were given gifts by DFF. It evoked a very good response.
